Advantages of Teaching Your Child Baby Sign Language
Research shows that preverbal infants can communicate through the use of sign language long before they can verbalize their needs. Taking classes with My Smart Hands™, Jess will give you the skills and knowledge you will need to communicate with your preverbal, hearing baby or to create a more effective mode of communication between you and your toddler.
The My Smart Hands™ program supports early communication, language development and parent-child connection. These classes are a unique blend of Baby Sign Language (using ASL signs), movement, music, literacy and sensory play while learning 12+ signs to weekly themes.
These whole child focused classes are perfect for parents with hearing babies as young as 3 months old, who want to watch their child:

Baby Sign Language Classes
Classes run once a week over 8 weeks; in each 8 week session you will learn over 125 signs to use with your child. Classes are 1 hour in length and are created for parents/caregivers and babies.
In a playful, educational and language-rich environment, caregivers and children will build their American Sign Language (ASL) vocabulary through instruction, books, and songs. You will learn recommended first signs; we will discuss the benefits of using ASL with infants and demonstrate easy techniques for successfully integrating signs into everyday life. Some of the ASL vocabulary covered for this age group includes, but is not limited to: everyday words, family, food, animals, emotions, opposites, bed time and play signs.
All of our classes include a full-color My Smart Hands™ award winning curriculum manual and CD with the songs included in the manual. The books have pictures of the signs learned along with descriptions for easy reference long after the class is over!
